Team Work Today

Editors-

Tierney-  Drop Senior photos in their spots on the page.  Check for float photos.   Also, start making a list of people we can write stories about.  Brainstorm, ask around, keep your eyes and ears peeled.   

Mallory-  Find Homecoming cheerleading photo that would work well on the blank blue box on the homecoming page.  It may be a shot of a game from the assembly.  Also check through the images for float pictures/

DeLaney- Finish proof reading and editing the pages I gave you last Friday.  

Mac- You will check off which ads (100 dollar sponsors and above) are already done and uploaded to the ADS folder on yearbook avenue.    We will post the list of remaining sponsors on the bulletin board.

Individual Projects

Ashley and Amy- you will open Google Docs and work on the class list file, entering Pre-school favorite food answers.  When finished, speak with me.  

Gunnar- You and I will brainstorm some ideas about Spanish page.  

Michael- Go photograph and get info from Mrs. Hite regarding jr. high projects.  Then speak with me about layout ideas. 

Kyle- Go check the shop for photo opportunities.   Once done, open the chart about school lunch favorites.

Cody and Kaylee- you will work together on a January article about the snow day.  

Zach- you and I will discuss you Academic Page.  Come with ideas and any work you have done so far. 

You will shoot photographs of Elementary kids today.

Academic Pages

You should now have your Academic pages started.  

Starting tomorrow, I will being checking progress on these pages. 

REMINDER: Your academic page is DUE at the end of the 3rd QUARTER.  Don't PROCRASTINATE.  Take photos and work on the spread in stages so you aren't slammed in a few weeks.

Any photos you need to take or stories you need to write need to be done in that time.

Story ideas:

PE Page- do a story on the what changes Mr. Moore has implemented.  What are the favorite games you are playing in class.  Maybe make a poll about this.

English Page and Business Ed- do a story on new teachers.  What are people's favorite projects from these classes?

Music- Do a story on the kids that love to sing/play.  

Art- interview Kylie about art.  

Math- Do a special on Ms. Beyer.  See if any kids are going into Mathematics in college.  

Shop- Do a story on the projects kids are making

Just a few ideas. We can brainstorm more in class

Please make sure you are UPLOADING your images to Yearbook Avenue.

I haven't found all of the blurs that you have been making.  They should go into the PEOPLE folder.

Ads go into the ADS folder.

Work Day

NOTICE-  Starting TOMORROW, I will be meeting with students to discuss the progress you are making on your academic pages.  If you haven't done anything, START WORKING ON THEM TODAY.

These are to be done as homework or in your extra work time that you have once your other work is done.

Things you should be doing- Creating polls, photographing interesting lessons in class, finding students that excel in a subject and photographing them with some of their work.    

Make progress.

Jan 6th How to Make A BLUR

How to do a BLUR


Step one- Rename your image the name of the person + blur.  (Bobblur)

Step two- Using the Lasso Tool, capture the subject (the dude or dudet)

Step three- Lay down a Quick Mask (Q) to perfect your selection
     Remember that Eraser (E) removes masked areas and Paint Brush (B) adds it back in.

Step four- Inverse the Selection  (Shift+Command+I)

Step five- Filter>Blur>Gaussian Blur (Radius = 20)

Step six- save in JPEG format.

Step seven- Upload to the PEOPLE FOLDER at Yearbook Avenue.  

ASN- Upload your completed ads to the ADS folder and then do a blur.  

Notice: Tiff Transparency

PLEASE remember to check the "SAVE TRANSPARENCY" box when saving cut-outs.  If not they do not work on the yearbook website as true cut-outs.

Create a document in Photoshop-

Size- 2 inches wide x 5 inches high

Resolution DPI- 200

Be sure to leave a small free space at the top of your ad for the words "A Word From Our Sponsors" which is added on yearbook avenue.

We will select a business card and create an ad today.
